Price and data sheet may have leaked July 15, 2020 – Posted in: Smartphone news
OnePlus has gained an important place in the smartphone market by aggressively focusing on the price-performance ratio. The first devices from the Chinese brand had very convincing technical data sheets, but could cost half the price of the high-end models from manufacturers such as Samsung or Apple. However, OnePlus has gradually evolved. And with this upward trend, prices for the brand’s models have gradually increased.
However, OnePlus does not intend to exit the affordable device market. And for a while, rumors suggest that the brand will soon launch a new mid-range smartphone called OnePlus Z.
It is even possible that the specifications of this smartphone and its price have recently been accidentally revealed. According to our colleagues from XDA, users of an Indian forum called DesiDime recently received a survey asking if they would be willing to buy a OnePlus smartphone with features and a price that could match that of the future OnePlus Z.
A middle class at less than 300 euros?
According to surveys, the new mid-range from OnePlus could have the following:
- 6.55-inch SUPER AMOLED screen with 90 Hz refresh rate and integrated fingerprint scanner
- A Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor with 5 GB, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage
- 4300 mAh battery with fast 30 W charging
- A 54 megapixel main camera with a 16 megapixel camera and another 2 megapixel camera
- A 16 megapixel front camera
In terms of price, the survey would show that the OnePlus Z in India could cost the equivalent of 292.31 euros. But of course this is not official information at the moment.
In any case, it would be logical for OnePlus to launch a cheaper smartphone than the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro this year in order to satisfy some of its fans who are looking for the best possible price-performance ratio. On the other hand, the OnePlus Z would be a way to counter Apple in emerging markets, where devices under $ 500 are more popular. As a reminder, Cupertino has already launched the iPhone SE 2020, an affordable and compact model that uses the same A13 Bionic processor as the iPhone 11.
