in 2021 a battery that rises from 0% to 100% in 20 minutes? July 15, 2020 – Posted in: Smartphone news

Since no new technologies are used today with which batteries can store more energy with the same volume, smartphone manufacturers are optimizing the charging time. The goal is to enable users to charge their smartphone as quickly as possible when the battery is charged to 0%. And Oppo is one of the most innovative brands in this area. In our test of the Chinese flagship’s newest flagship, the Oppo Find X2 Pro, we came to the conclusion that the device can be 50% to 75% charged in just 10 minutes, and then 90% charged in 30 minutes 100 % in less than 40 minutes. This is possible thanks to a 65 W quick charging system.

Oppo, one of the fast charging champions?

Oppo is currently preparing a new version of its SuperVOOC fast charging system. According to the GSMArena website, which shares rumors that are spreading on the Weibo Chinese social network, this new version of SuperVOOC would allow 80W of power. And that would charge a smartphone 100% in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the technology would not be available until 2021.

Since this information does not come from an official source, this should of course still be viewed with caution. However, it should be noted that this is not the first time that the media have mentioned Oppo’s fast 80W charging. In fact, this technology was already rumored in January. If Oppo starts this fast 80W charge, it can even embarrass some players who are a bit behind in this area, such as: B. Apple. In our test of the iPhone 11 Pro, we found that charging this device 100% with the included 18 W charger takes about an hour and forty minutes (on the other hand, Apple did a lot of work for the autonomy).

Oppo is also very advanced in wireless charging. As mentioned in an earlier article, the Oppo Ace 2, formalized in April, uses a wireless charging station that allows you to charge the device 100% in less than an hour thanks to a 40W rate.
