During an interview with the French press, Richard Yu, executive director and head of the product division at Huawei, gave details of the company’s strategy. We learn that the successor to the Huawei P30 will be unveiled in late March in Paris. New design, more efficient battery, Huawei continues to develop its range, despite the American blockade and the impossibility of integrating Google services.

But above all, Richard Yu reveals that the Huawei Mate X will be available for sale in France in the first quarter and that a new version of its foldable smartphone is in development. The presentation will take place at the Mobile World Congress 2020 in Barcelona which will open on February 24. The format should be similar to the current model, but the hinge mechanism would have been revised, as well as the structure of the screen. It would also be entitled to the new Kirin 990 chip. The launch could take place in Europe in April.
Regarding the conflict with the US administration, Huawei is looking for new partners to replace Google services in its smartphones. A version of the French search engine QWANT is in preparation and efforts are being made to attract developers.
