Apple’s first foldable smartphone to be signed soon? July 15, 2020 – Posted in: Smartphone news

When Samsung and Huawei launched their first foldable smartphones last year, Apple didn’t turn to this new format, which is the fraction of the models launched in the market in recent years. However, this could soon move towards the apple brand.

Leaker Jon Prosser, who has been very well informed for a few months, affirms that Apple would think about unveiling its first foldable phone – an iPhone of a new kind that would not see the light of day for several months, at least to see years. In a tweet he says: ” Apple’s “foldable” iPhone isn’t really foldable. The current prototype has two separate display panels on a hinge. The edges are rounded and made of stainless steel like the current iPhone 11. No notch – a tiny area on the screen where facial recognition is located “”

He adds: ” Memes are funny – but it doesn’t look like they just stuck two phones together. Even if there are two separate panels, it appears to be fairly continuous and homogeneous when the screens are extended “”

The leak information comes from the same sources that mentioned the Apple iPhone 12, which is scheduled for release in September.

No foldable iPhone before 2021 (at the earliest)?

These rumors reflect patents on the subject that have already been filed by Apple and have spawned concepts that make it possible to see what the brand’s first foldable iPhones might look like. For Jon Prosser, however, one has to wait until the manufacturer enters this market. This model is not planned for 2020 and maybe not for 2021 either.

Due to the way Apple designs its products, we can assume that the company wants to present a foldable smartphone that is perfect immediately after its release. In comparison, Huawei and Samsung had some difficulties with their respective first models, especially the hinge of the screen. This positioning explains why such a project could be so lo g.

In the meantime, we have to settle for the iPhone 12, four new models (rumored to be) that Apple will make official in a few months – just like the new Apple Watch.
