A Xiaomi smartphone that defies the zoom of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra? July 15, 2020 – Posted in: Smartphone news
At the beginning of the year, Samsung surprised everyone with the launch of the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Although it is a bit too expensive even for a high-end smartphone, the S20 Ultra is equipped with a main camera with 108 megapixels, and most importantly, the device can zoom x100, which the manufacturer called Space Zoom.
But soon the zoom of the Galaxy S20 Ultra could be challenged by a Xiaomi model, which should also cost less. As a reminder: Xiaomi uses the same 108 megapixel camera as the S20 Ultra on the Mi Note 10, the Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro. On the other hand, no smartphone from the Chinese brand defies the S20 Ultra in terms of zoom.
This could change, however, as Xiaomi could equip the successor to the Mi Note 10 with a zoom system that, thanks to an optical zoom x12, enables a hybrid magnification x120, according to an article published on the Android Central website. Android Central forwards information from the Russian website Xiaomishka.
Other interesting information: The successor to the Mi Note 10 would use the Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor, an improved version of the 108 megapixel sensor used by the S20 Ultra and the Mi 10. The device could be released in July and used a Snapdragon 775 processor, suggesting that it will be a pretty affordable smartphone, even if it could support 5G.
A mid-range smartphone with exceptional zoom?
But of course, as usual, this information should be viewed with caution as it does not come from an official source. In any case, Xiaomi has been upgrading its flagship models for some time, which helps to improve the quality of cameras.
At the same time, the manufacturer also dominates the mid-range device market with its Redmi Note smartphones. In addition, Xiaomi recently launched its Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphones in France. These are affordable smartphones with very interesting technical data and an unbeatable price-performance ratio.
